Solar Oven Recipes

 

Cooking with the sun is easy, fun and simple.  More recipes to come!

 

Thai Green Curry in the Solar Oven

2 x Carrots (sliced) 

2 x Potatoes (cubed) 

Some cauliflower or broccoli 

1 x handful of green beans (halved) 

1 x capsicum (sliced) 

1 can coconut cream 

125ml vege stock 

Thai curry paste to taste 

2 tablespoons lime juice 

2 tablespoons soy sauce 

2 tablespoons brown or palm sugar 

Optional tofu cubes 

 

Preheat your solar cooker by putting it in the sun. Prepare all the vegetables and put in dark casserole dish. Mix together all the liquids, sugar and pastes and pour over the vegetables. Stir. Pop in the solar cooker. Stir after 30 minutes if you like. Check after an hour. Add tofu cubes during the last 20 minutes of cooking. Enjoy sprinkled with cashew nuts!

 

Rice

A cup of rice, 2 cups of water, a little sun and you'll be having fluffy rice within the hour. Forget mircowaving, solar ovens cook the most amazing rice worry-free.
