About Solar Cooking
Cooking with the sun is easy,
simple and fun.
In
our Global Sun Oven our family cooks everything from roasts to rice, Thai curries to bread,
desserts to casseroles.
In our Villager Sun Oven we produce
for commercial sale everything from cookies to bread to quiches and dried herbs.
Yum!
Solar cookery is a great way to
preserve and protect the environment as:
-
there are no polluting emissions or
smoke released
-
no trees need to be cut down for
fuel
-
no coal or gas needs to be burned
for energy generation
-
the less energy you and others use
in your home or business means it’s less
likely you’ll have a nuclear plant built near your
city
The larger Villager Sun Oven does
have a gas back up system if it must be used during rainy periods, but otherwise, any day the
sun shines for even an hour or two is a good day to solar dine!
Cooking using the sun as your
energy source is enjoyable, cheap and wholesome. As there is no element, your food is heated
evenly and as there is no need for an electricity connection, you can cook
anywhere.
Our
solar ovens are incredibly well insulated and can keep meals warm even after the sun goes
down. This insulation means you can even cook in the snow
and your solar oven will still perform.
These solar ovens are durable and
are designed to last at least 20 years.
One other benefit of solar
cooking…when it’s stinking hot in summer, you don’t need to further heat your kitchen up by
turning on your indoor oven!
